Wedding Venues

These are some of the wedding venues I have had the privilege of photographing at, over the last six years. Covering eight counties. They are all within easy driving distance of my home on the Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex border. I am available to shoot weddings anywhere in the UK or destination weddings in any part of the world.

Have I shot at your wedding venue before? If not, does that matter? It really shouldn’t be important. My wedding photography is based on natural imagery. I don’t spend the day telling my couples where to stand. I capture things as they happen. The only posed shots I will be taking will be some portraits of you together and possibly some family group shots. I don’t need long to work out where to shoot couples portraits. There is no such thing as “the photographer knows the best place to shoot”.

I spent 20 years as a top end fashion photographer shooting all over the world. It’s always good to take a look at a location before shooting there. That takes 20-30 minutes at most venues. I often do that when I meet my couples a few weeks before their wedding day. But even when I do, I never pre-plan my shots. Because so much depends on the day itself. The light, the weather etc. There’s no point knowing that there’s a really great landscape shot with fields in the background, when it’s chucking it down with rain and the couple doesn’t want to leave the venue. When that happens, a wedding photographer has to come up with something better on the fly. That’s where skill and experience come in. Those are a far more important factor than if someone has shot at a venue before.

I won’t be repeating someone else’s wedding, like paint by numbers. I will be capturing your wedding (if you choose to book me). That is a natural process, where I capture the venue as part of your wedding day. Not as a pre-planned set of photos.
