Kayleigh & Toby | Froyle Park Wedding

Kayleigh & Toby | Froyle Park Wedding Love, Love, Love this Froyle Park wedding. When I met Kayleigh & Toby a few weeks before the wedding, I was happy to see that they were a very relaxed couple, that seemed to understand that they’d get the best images from me if they simply enjoyed their…

Wow that first photo definitely the hero shot! Wonderful set – love your use of wide angle lens – it draws you right in!ReplyCancel

    • Paul TansleyJanuary 21, 2019 - 3:22 pm

Yes, that first shot is pretty special. It’s the type of shot you always try and achieve as a wedding photographer, but the conditions aren’t ideal, as the staircase is actually really dark. But luckily, with modern cameras and quite a bit of post-processing I was able to bring out the bride and capture the whole scene how I wanted it to look.ReplyCancel

Winchester Wedding Photography | Sarah + Nick | Greyhound Stockbridge

Winchester Wedding Photography | Sarah + Nick I’ve got to say, I felt a little bit of pressure to make this wedding really look great. The reason being was that Sarah had booked us because she’d already seen a previous wedding we’d shot – Gemma & Joe’s wedding from September 2016. That was one of…

Gate Street Barn Wedding Photography | Lisa + Peter

Gate Street Barn Wedding Photography | Lisa + Peter Lisa and Peter’s Gate Street Barn wedding really was an amazing day to capture for me. As with all weddings, you never quite know what you might get from the images on the day, because 95% of the day is unposed and shot as it happens….

Thx David. Yes, it sure makes it a total joy for us as photographers when our brides are beaming all day long. It’s my number one tip for brides on their wedding day. Smile, laugh or cry. But be in the moment, be emotional, as that shows through in the wedding pictures.ReplyCancel

Best Wedding Photography 2017

Life as a documentary wedding photographer is an emotional rollercoaster. Every wedding I attend is a unique experience, where I become totally absorbed in other people’s lives for a whole day. Then absorbed in pictures of them and their friends and family for the following few days. That creates a strange phenomenon where as soon…

Thx Linus. These slideshows are always hard to make (but I love the end result). Trying to get everything to flow nicely and fit the music. Also, as you know yourself, it’s hard to choose between images to use. Out of 22,500 images shot last year – how do you pick your favourites and narrow them down to 144 images.ReplyCancel

It’s magical… And really incredible work.
      I’m a big fan.
What gear did you use for this? 🙂ReplyCancel

      • Paul TansleySeptember 15, 2017 - 5:54 pm

        Thx Miki. It’s all shot on Canon 5D4’s using mostly Canon 24-70 mk2, 16-35 mk3 (superb lens), 85 1.8 and maybe a couple on the 70-200 2.8

But to be honest, photography is far more than just the gear. It’s about being observant and watching for the moment, plus knowing how to capture that moment. I won’t deny though that the mk4 bodies are superb in low light and grabbing focus. A big improvement over the mk3 version. Everything is daylight apart from the cake and dance shots, which are lit with a small LED panel.ReplyCancel
